Verizon Wireless announced yesterday that it will now be supporting the BlackBerry PRIV on their network.

In the official statement by external communications manager, George Koroneos, the PRIV will start being available for purchase online today, March 3, 2016.  The monthly payment plan for the device will be $30 for 24 months coming to a full retail price of $720.

BlackBerry’s PRIV is unique among android smartphones in that it possesses a full QWERTY slide out keyboard making it a highly sought after device for users who send out several emails or messages a day because typing is faster.

The PRIV also has a curved glass display like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and a near stock Android experience like a Motorola Moto X.

BlackBerry’s main selling point though is the increased security.  Android devices have a reputation of being vulnerable to security exploits due to a lack of updates for the plethora of devices in the market.  BlackBerry is priding themselves on their claim-to-fame of the early 2000’s by providing habitual security updates to their PRIV.

The texter’s dream phone will also be in Verizon Wireless stores beginning March 11, 2016.
